Come and see our plans for St. Edmund’s Church in Southwold
January 9, 2015Plans are being drawn up for internal changes to St. Edmund’s Church that will make the very best of the space inside and help it become a more sustainable building for the future.
- Toilets
- Tea making area
- Under-floor heating
- Creating more versatile spaces
- Improved displays and storage facilities
- Making the church more accessible
The St. Edmund’s Project aims to enable the church to support a wider range of users, be flexible in its style of worship, and encourage church users and visitors to engage more deeply with the building.
Come to our open exhibitions
Initial proposals have been drawn up and we are holding a number of drop-in exhibitions at Buckenham Galleries on the High Street for you to see the plans and ask us any questions you may have.
Thursday 22 January 2pm – 8pm
Friday 23 January 10am – 4pm
Tuesday 17th February 2pm – 8pm
Wednesday 18th February 10am – 4pm
We want to share our plans with you before a final proposal is submitted to the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (the DAC) in April 2015. There will be an opportunity to respond formally to our proposals at this stage.
We will need to raise funds to make the project possible. Some funds have already been secured but further donations will be needed. More information about how you can donate will be available at the exhibitions.
