This weekend St Peter & St Paul, Wangford reopens for worship which means that our live streamed services on a Sunday will temporarily be suspended.Services in church will take place on 1 November in St Edmund’s Southwold at 8.00am (BCP), St Margaret’s Reydon and St Edmund’s, Southwold at 9.30am (CW), St Andrew, Walberswick and St Peter & St Paul, Wangford at 11.15am, and St Mary’s Uggeshall at 6.00pm.Readings: All Saints’ Day – Revelation 7:9-17; 1 John 3:1-3: Matthew 5:1-12.
Remembrance Sunday online service on 8 November 2020 This online service will be led by military chaplains and pays tribute to all those who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces. It will also give thanks for the families and others who provide care and support. More details on both of the above services will be promoted nearer the time on the Church of England’s website and social media accounts.

Compline on Zoom Thursday’s 8.30pm The invitation and link will be emailed each Thursday. If you would like to receive this please email email@example.com. The liturgy will appear on your screen, and the service takes about 12-15 minutes. It is a quiet and peaceful way to end the day.

An £80,000 restoration project to the church porch at St. Andrew’s, Walberswick started on 9th October and will last about 8 weeks. During this time the church will be closed to visitors during the week because the contractors need to work safely and without interruption. However we will still be able to hold the planned Wednesday and Sunday services. Access to the church for services will be via the choir vestry which unfortunately is on foot.

Prayer point – Prayer point – We pray for all the nations of the world, especially for the poorest nations trying to cope with the Covid 19 Pandemic. We pray for the countries trying to lift lockdown restrictions, and for those people who continue to shield or are living with anxiety. We pray for those whose livelihoods are at risk and for all of us as we seek to return to some normality living alongside the reality of the virus and a second wave.
Choral Evensong is returning to Holy Trinity Blythburgh on the first Sunday of each month. Since this is a popular service, we have to be careful about numbers and distancing. To avoid disappointing anyone who might turn up only to find the church is ‘full’ we need to ask you to pre-book. Operation Christmas Child As in recent years, St Andrew’s & St. Margaret’s, are going to be involved in the Operation Christmas Child appeal organized by Samaritan’s Purse, whereby shoe boxes containing small gifts are sent to needy children around the world, regardless of their background or religious belief. If you are interested in taking part in this venture, which has in the past bought great joy to recipients and those creating the gifts, please contact Christine or Brian on (723023) Neil and Jan Holloway (723706); Ready printed boxes & leaflets about the project are available in the Churches. Please could the boxes be returned to Church by Sunday November 8th.

Guidance regarding Financial Giving during the Crisis Our churches are not immune from the same financial challenges as other institutions during this time. Please continue to give, as is your custom, by Standing Order or the Parish Giving Scheme. If you give weekly by envelopes please continue to do so. If anyone would like advice how to set up a Standing Order or join the Parish Giving Scheme please contact your PCC Treasurer or the Vicar.
