We pray for us all as we continue to live under the Tiered System.  We remember especially, the sick, the anxious, the lonely, and the bereaved. We remember all who are unemployed.   We also pray for our Health Service at this time.

Mid Week Services commence again from this week with the following services remaining on Zoom.Tuesday 6.30pm Holy Communion, St Margaret, Reydon via Zoom.Thursday 8.30pm Compline from Blythburgh via Zoom.

St Edmund’s Church Southwold together with Southwold Town Council are offering a Community Larder. If you need the help, to stock up on some basic foodstuffs for free, hopefully taking the pressure off family budgets during the festive season.

On the afternoons of Friday 11th and Friday 18th December between 2pm and 4pm you will be welcome to come to St Edmund’s Church and to take anything that might be useful to you and your family, or for any neighbours and friends that you might be caring for.

Please bring your own shopping bag. Donations can be made to support the work of the East Suffolk Foodbank 

Doorstep Carols Suffolk – 16th December 6 – 7pm.  Join in with Lightwave & Radio Suffolk

  1. Ask some neighbours if they would like to sing along with you
  2. Give them a copy of the words which can be download from
  3. Go and sing on your doorstep along with your neighbours on theirs.


15th & 22nd December – The Southwold Music Trust is staging lunchtime concerts in St. Edmund’s Church. Small socially distanced audiences will be allowed in church, and the concerts will be streamed live on YouTube. The Home, But Not Alone free phoneline 0800 876 6926, which supports vulnerable people in our communities who may be struggling with the impact of Coronavirus. Staffed from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Guidance regarding Financial Giving during the CrisisOur churches are not immune from the same financial challenges as other institutions during this time.  Please continue to give, as is your custom, by Standing Order or the Parish Giving Scheme. If you give weekly by envelopes please continue to do so until they can be brought to church and offered in services.
