Pilgrim Course – This Autumn we have begun a group for enquirers and new Christians who want to learn more about the Christian faith.

There will be two groups. An adults’ group that will meet on a Tuesday evening led by Rev Canon Simon Pitcher at 6.00pm, at Parson’s Meadow, Church Street. Wangford NR34 8RW,

and a teenagers’ group (secondary school age) that will meet on a Thursday at 6.15pm at Reydon Vicarage led by Rev Alan Perry.  The group is for:

  • Those who have recently started coming to Church
  • Those who want the chance to think about the Christian faith
  • Those preparing for baptism or confirmation
  • Those who have been Christian for many years and want to visit the roots of their faith again

November is, traditionally, the month in the Church when we especially remember the departed on All Souls Day. There will be a service on Sunday 5th November, at the Church of St. Margaret, Reydon,  beginning at 3pm.  During the service names of our departed loved ones are read out and there is an opportunity for you to light a candle as a sign of remembrance and love for those who have died.

 

SERVICE OF LIGHT will be held on Sunday, 29th October, 6pm at St. Peter & St. Paul, Wangford

 

The Sotherton Annual Quiz is on 17th November, Wangford Community Centre, doors open 7.00 p.m. for start 7.15 p.m. start. Teams of maximum of six, there will be nibbles and a raffle.

A Passion Play is being planned to be performed on 26-28 March 2018 for Holy week.  This is for all of our churches in Sole Bay to be involved as well as member of our communities.  Casting will take place on 30 November in Southwold Arts Centre, St Edmund’s Hall. Cumberland Road at 7.30pm. For information please speak to Rev Alan or Rev Simon and for a copy of the script please email or telephone Rev Alan. 

 

We are planning a Team Retreat to Iona from 11 – 15 June 2018 led by writer, broadcaster & Parish Priest The Rev Dr Rob Marshall.  

The cost includes a 3 night stay in the Iona Retreat House, 1 night’s stay in a Glasgow Hotel, half board, return travel by coach, train & ferry between Glasgow and Iona. 

The inclusive cost is £639.  Additional costs will be travel between Sole Bay and Glasgow return.  Places are limited.  Please speak to Rev Simon or Rev Alan if you would like more information or a booking form.
