As we return to worship in our churches, the same restrictions apply before the latest lockdown (e.g. wearing of face masks and social distancing).  Services will be live streamed via YouTube from St Margaret, Reydon for those continuing to join us from home.

Our website and CoE details of how to join others online for prayer, worship, study, and community life

As lockdown eases and visitor numbers increase, we are desperate for stewards to serve as welcomers in St Edmunds during each day.  Would you be able to give an hour or two, to welcome visitors, answer their questions and make them feel welcome?  Please let Rev Simon know if you are able to help.

A remarkable true story retold – Saturday 21 August at 3pm
Angela Lawrence’s extensive research into the true story of William and Alma Smith of Wangford resulted in the publication of her compelling book ‘Rumour’, which she will discuss on a return visit to the village in August. Her book not only chronicles the tragic story of two lives lost to rumour, but it also exposes the behaviour of those in power who did nothing to mitigate the reputational damage that those rumours caused. William Smith, the much loved Headmaster at Henham and Wangford School was wrongly accused of spying at the beginning of the First World War and is now interred with his wife Alma in the churchyard at St Peter and St Paul in Wangford. It is fitting therefore that Angela Lawrence’s talk will take place here in the church that William and Alma Smith once attended. Attendance will be free, but there will be a retiring collection to contribute towards the restoration of William and Alma Smith’s grave in the churchyard. After the talk there will be refreshments and copies of the book available for purchase.
