It is with great sadness that we report the death of Lady Penelope, a very faithful member of the Church and Village in Wangford as well as its Patron along with Uggeshall and Sotherton Parishes. Please pray for Lady Penelope, for her family and all who mourn at this time.  Lady Penelope’s Funeral will take place on Monday 9 December at 2pm at the Church of St Peter & St Paul, Wangford.


Sunday 24 November at 4pm in Holy Trinity: Anam Cora present “Arriving Home’’. As the nights close in, and Anam Cora’s pilgrimage through the cycle of the year draws to a close, these five singers reflect on the seasons they have travelled through, and weave together song, poetry and silence into this Sung Meditation. Come & join them! No booking required. Donations invited – £10 suggested. This event will be raising funds for the charity Combat Stress.

Saturday 30 November from noon to 4pm Holy Trinity’s annual Christmas Market will take place in the church. Over 30 stalls selling local crafts, food and drink, Christmas cards and decorations, plus home-made soups, mulled wine, mince-pies and cakes to fortify you for your Christmas shopping!



During the Southwold Switch On, next Saturday 30 November Christians Together have arranged an Advent Festival in the URC through out the day. The theme this year is ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’.  Please come along and see the displays and enjoy the refreshments. There are also free gifts for children.

On 14 December there will be carol singing with the Salvation Army Band outside the URC between 11.00am and 12.00.  Please come along and offer your vocal support!


CONCERT TO MARK THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON OF ADVENT: SATURDAY 30 NOVEMBER AT 7.30PM The highly renowned Abbot Consort are going to perform a concert to mark the beginning of the Season of Advent in St Peter & St Paul Wangford on 30th November at 7.30pm.  The Choir will be conducted by Martin Bagnall and accompanied by Christopher Moore. Entry is free with a retiring collection for The Church Raise the Roof Appeal and ‘Maggie’s Cambridge’ which works to support people living with cancer.  Martin Bagnall conducted the memorable Evensong in Wangford last year. All welcome.
