There will not be Team Morning Prayer at St. Margaret’s on Wednesdays during August.
Morning prayer resumes on Wednesday 3rd September
This weekend – Uggeshall Teas – 3pm to 6pm. Come and enjoy a full English Tea.
This evening there will be a vigil service with music led by the Blythburgh singers
to mark the 100th anniversary of Britain’s entry into the First World War at 6pm at Holy Trinity Blythburgh.
On Monday 4th August 10.00pm until 11.00 pm there will be an act of remembrance at Southwold war memorial on St Bartholomew’s Green, moving into St Edmund’s church if it is raining. This event is supported by the Royal British Legion and Southwold Town Council.
At the same time on Monday 4th 10.00pm to 11.00pm there will also be an act of remembrance and reflection at Reydon war memorial near the entrance to St Margaret’s church. This event is supported by Reydon parish council and the Royal British Legion.
Southwold Beach Mission until Friday 8th August
We look forward to welcoming the annual Scripture Union Beach Mission to Southwold once again this year. There will be morning activities each day for children of school age and for young people, and Bible studies for adults. There will also be a range of afternoon and evenings activities during the Mission to compliment the morning sessions. The main programme of events is free to all. Please note – Service at Sotherton Church on 10 August will be at 10.30 with Baptism and not 9.30.
Monday 11 August – Cake Stall outside Lloyds Bank in Southwold from 9am in aid of St Andrew’s Church, Sotherton. Please come and make the most of the cake season. If anyone could make cake we would be grateful.
Holy Trinity, Blythburgh – Music in Country Churches – 3 concerts on Friday 22nd & Saturday 23rd August – English Chamber Orchestra, pianists Maria Joao Pires, Katya Apekisheva and Charles Owen along with the cellist Antonio Meneses. Booking form will be available at the back of all churches.
Songs of Praise end of August – Due to difficulties planning this event The Christians Together Committee have had to make the sad decision to cancel Songs of Praise this year.
Sunday 31st August Team Eucharist 11am at St Lawrence, South Cove. There service will be followed with a picnic. Bring your own lunch, deck chair / blanket, drinks will be provided.
New course beginning 18 September – Pilgrim – a course for the Christian Journey.
An informal course with teaching, discussion and prayer for enquirers, for people who have never been to church or as a refresher and a chance to ask questions. 6 Thursday evenings beginning 18 September at 730pm in Wangford Community Centre.
