St Edmunds Church, Southwold – During the next seven months the west end of St Edmunds will be re ordered, new toilets, tea point, shop area, children’s corner, better heating and level floor will be fitted.  This will be a £600k scheme that will enable the church to be a more flexible and welcoming space.  During the work services will be held in the south aisle or in St Edmunds Hall.  

 

LADIES BIBLE GROUP, meeting every Wednesday at 2pm in St.Andrews Church Walberswick.

Starting: Wednesday 10th May for 6 weeks.Exploring: ‘Talking with God’

All ladies welcome, the more the merrier, no need to ‘book’ a place! Cuppa tea provided!!

 

Christians Together in Southwold & District; Christians Together will be holding their Annual Open meeting on Thursday 11th May at St. Margaret’s Church Reydon at 7.00pm. All are invited to attend.

Christians Together will be holding a cake stall in aid of Christian Aid, on Thursday 18th May outside Lloyds bank from 9.00am 12 noon please support this event.

 

Foodbank; Donations are still required by Foodbank especially supplies of fruit juice, UHT milk and tinned tomatoes. Donations may be made at The Library, St. Edmunds Church, St Margaret’s Church, The Sacred Heart, and on Sunday mornings at  The Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church.

 

Please support Alan, the Team Vicar’s Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela 27 May – 3 June 2017

Reverend Alan and his wife Sue are walking from Ourense in Spain to Santiago de Compostela (Tomb of St James the Great) on pilgrimage in May half term 2017. They aim to walk about 12 miles a day for six days. Reverend Alan would be grateful if you would sponsor him to support the churches where Alan is the Team Vicar and also for the people of Kagera in Tanzania who have had three years of drought where there is now a significant risk of malnutrition and starvation.

Please sponsor him by signing Rev Alan’s sponsor form or go to the Just Giving website and pledge money using the link ‘Reverend Alan Perry’.  Please pray for Alan and Sue as they prepare for their pilgrimage. Thank you for your support.

 

The service for the swearing in of churchwardens, the Archdeacon’s visitation, will be on Thursday 4th May at 7.30 in St Michael’s Beccles.  All most welcome to attend.

 

Concert in St. Margaret’s Church, with Blyth Five, Wednesday, 28th June.  This will be the final concert ever performed by Blyth Five.  More details to follow.
